Han Groen-Prakken Psychoanalytic Institute for Eastern Europe is a joint creation of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) and the European Psychoanalytical Federation (EPF).

The Mission of the Institute is to provide training to assure the effective development of psychoanalysis in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Its aims are:

  • To improve the quality of life for those people in Eastern Europe and the states of the former Soviet Union who suffer from psychological disorders and emotional disturbances;

  • To enable appropriately educated and trained clinicians to contribute to the welfare of those in their care, to the body of knowledge in the field, and to the enhancement of the educational processes that lead to the attainment of a professional level of skill and knowledge.
